DDR2 memory a review
DDR2 memory is the second generation of the DRAM memory. The DDR2 memory is more efficient when compared with the ddr ram memory. Most of the laptops are now using the DDR2 memory specification. DDR2 memory cannot be used on PC’s that do not come with DDR2 technology, as there are different numbers of pins: 240 pins in DDR2 as opposed to 180 in DDR1. Upgrading your PC to DDR2 Memory doesn’t have to be a convoluted matter. You could purchase the required component and proceed to any computer store to have it installed in your machine.
Alternatively, you could take your laptop directly to the store, discuss your requirements with the technicians and follow their suggestions for trouble free computer usage. To tell about the DDR2 memory - This is the second generation DDR memory. While the 400MHz is the highest speed for DDR1, it is the lowest for DDR2. This means that DDR2 picks up where DDR1 leaves off. Due to the different latencies, a 400MHz DDR1 may outperform a 400MHz DDR2, but the advantage returns to DDR2 as soon as the speed reaches the next step (532MHz) which DDR1 cannot reach.
RAM is becoming so cheap and abundant today that a lot of DDR2 1066 modules are also getting very low in price, some coming down to the price level of DDR2 800 memory sets. DDR2 memory also consumes a smaller amount power which makes it more reliable to use.
